If you’re as busy as we are, then you deserve a beer and an interesting evening at least as much as we do. Come to our October 15th #MetaBeerTalks on social in broadcast at The Plough in Museum Street. Arrive from 6.30 for said beer, then we’ll start the talks at 7pm. This Wednesday, you have a chance to learn whether social (discovery? recommendations? all of the above?) has a place in TV, and if the talks and treats do you well, a further chance to close the pub with us, a skill we’ve honed over many years.
how does it work?
You sign up to #MetaBeerTalks and RSVP the invite, we buy pints & treats, then we all talk and make merry. We’re allowing 1 hour for as many 5 minute talks as needed. If you’d like a spot on the running order below (this month, or next, or even in January 2015), do get in touch*.
- October 15th 2014 – SOCIAL IN BROADCAST
- Chris – social for TV: the next big thing, or an impossible dream?
- Rita – social(ness) and psychology
- Jamie – anti-social data
- Tom – on informed consent
- Luke – an example—Discover4
- Max – how: graph databases?
- Romain – betaseries.com
- AND YOU?
- Mirona – in mobile I trust
Ideally #MetaBeerTalks speakers arrive at the pub a bit earlier to register and get their ducks in order but, more importantly, to score a fresh pint ahead of the crowd. Talks can be 5 minutes and take any form conceivable, as long as they stay short and sweet. Where by sweet we mean casual and engaging. We’ve written in detail about how it works, and as always, there’s a summary of the September 17th edition, recommendations.
#MetaBeerTalks are our monthly get together with colleagues, friends, partners, and (generally) likeminded folks. They are spoken in plain English for the most part, and are a fun night out where we all expand our views as we consume the best ales and finger foods an English pub has to offer.
Join us at The Plough on Wednesday October 15th from 6:30pm for talks at 7pm. The earlier the better if you plan to stand up and talk. Either way, we can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Social in broadcast, so sign up to our #MetaBeerTalks for the quickest way to RSVP.
