It’s the middle of the month, it must be #MetaBeerTalks week. We’re back at The Plough in Museum Street on Wednesday. Arrive from 6.30 for a drink, then we’ll start the talks from the new later time of 7pm, this month on people choose people. Drinks and snacks will continue into the evening. Come and join us!
how does it work?
You come, we buy, then we all talk and make merry. We’re allowing 1 hour for as many 5-10 minute talks as needed. If you’d like to speak, please tweet at @metabroadcast with your topic and include #MetaBeerTalks, or reply our invite if you’re on the mailing list. First come, first served, and we’ll update the running order as we go. So far this month we’re proposing the talks below for starters, and the topic for September:
- August 13th 2014 – PEOPLE CHOOSE PEOPLE
- Chris – why navigating by people?
- Oli – the atlas people api
- Rita – dodging
bulletspeople in content
- Tiff – power to the people
- Dan – why people look at photos
- Tim – working with people data from production teams
- Mirona – people, my secret way of navigating netflix
- AND YOU?
Ideally #MetaBeerTalks speakers arrive at the pub a bit earlier to check their slides, apps and other projections work, and to get a fresh pint for morale. Talks can be 5-10 minutes and take any form conceivable, as long as they stay casual and engage the audience. In the last months we’ve written in more detail about how it works, and why, the first edition, on realtime, and a summary of the July 11th edition, sport in broadcast.
#MetaBeerTalks are our monthly get together with friends, partners, and likeminded folks. They are spoken in plain English for the most part, and are a fun night out where we all expand our views as we consume the best ales and fried foods an English pub has to offer.
