MetaBroadcast Extends Relationship with RadioTimes.com to Power Programme Listings

London, 27th March 2024 — MetaBroadcast, the UK’s leading metadata management specialist, announced today that it has been awarded a three-year contract renewal by RadioTimes.com, the UK’s number one entertainment website.

MetaBroadcast’s cloud-based active metadata platform, Atlas, has been matching content IDs and mapping related content records from relevant broadcasters and commercial metadata providers for RadioTimes.com since 2013. Atlas creates a unified high-quality data set that gives the editorial team the flexibility to prioritise metadata source ingests, perform editorial overrides and manage channel groupings.

“MetaBroadcast’s Atlas gives us a consolidated view of data ingested from multiple sources, including all leading UK Broadcasters, Press Association for schedule data and streaming title data, IMDb for enrichment data, and our own RadioTimes.com editorial content. We can easily check the provenance of data and review or edit records when necessary. It has helped us save time and improve editorial team efficiency,” says Helen Hackworthy, listing and platforms editor at RadioTimes.com.

“Our proposition is that we are data agnostic with a platform that can manage different data sources, validate that data and normalise it into a single source of truth,” says Jamie Mackinlay, CEO, MetaBroadcast. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with RadioTimes.com.”

RadioTimes.com constantly evolves as its audience seeks more data to influence their viewing choices. RadioTimes.com complements its own data with data feeds from other sources to enrich content records and meet goals to deliver a fulfilling web experience and boost overall website performance and traffic.  MetaBroadcast will continue to support their requirements as viewers embrace new ways of learning about (e.g., trailers, podcasts) and consuming their favourite programmes (FAST Channels).

“MetaBroadcast continues to give RadioTimes.com the flexibility and agility we need to meet and exceed our stated goals. High-quality metadata is of paramount importance to us and we value our ongoing partnership with MetaBroadcast,” says Mark Summerton, Managing Director, RadioTimes.com.
