atlas release notes - fortnight to 12th june and week to 19th june

Here are the Atlas release notes for the fortnight to 12th June and the week to 19th June. We’ve combined things a bit this week due to the shortened weeks around the bank holiday and because we’ve been working on some big pieces of what will become the next major version of Atlas. Exciting times, some of which are detailed in the releases to staging below.

The following items have been deployed to production:

• Fix to channels in the API explorer (thanks to Philip Pearl for reporting)
• Added channel filters to the API explorer
• Channels endpoint now supports JSONP
• People are now merged on output by equivalence merging
• Changes to Radioplayer feeds
• Fix to Channel 4 EPG updater
• Optimisations to content updates

The following items have been deployed to staging, for a future production release:

• episode_number has been moved to the description annotation (from extended_description)
• total_episodes has been added to the series_summary annotation
• Atlas now writes all changes to an internal message queue
• Writing all types of content items is now supported in Cassandra
• Continued work on major Channel 4 ingest changes
• Improvements to search indexing
