atlas meets twitter meets ceefax

We’re always excited to see hacks built on top of Atlas, so it has been great this week to play with The World Is Watching from Daniel Cooper. In Daniel’s own words:

Using the Atlas API it works out what’s currently on BBC One and then checks Twitter to see if anyone’s talking about what’s on TV.

the world is watching

We love the way Daniel used data from Atlas to make broad searches against Twitter, rather than sticking to hashtags that are often only used by hardcore Twitter users. We’re also rather taken by the quirky Teletext styling. A blast from the past for British children of the 1980s.

This isn’t Daniel’s first outing with Atlas. He’s also the author of Ratlas, the Ruby library for Atlas. Nice work, Daniel!
